The club that is dedicated to prove that Urmila Matondkar is a figment of our collective imagination was formed in 2004, and gained notoriety after Vicky Kaushal became a member in 2016. “There was always a part of me that didn’t believe int he existence of Urmila Matondkar, but it wasn’t until 2016 that I found out that there were others like me,” he wrote in the open letter.
While the actor has been a vocal Urmila Matondkar truther since a long time, it was her alleged birthday on February 4th this year that prompted him to write the letter.
“On Filmybeat, her birthday is listed as Feb 4th, but I went on Twitter to check and nobody wished her with any Tweet. Not even Amitabh Bachchan, who wishes literally everyone on the planet,” he wrote, “If she was a real person, why were there no Tweets?”
The actor then goes on to describe the club’s core beliefs, namely Urmila being a fake character created by the opposition government to distract people from the real issues plaguing the country like unemployment and pigeon infestation.
“We can choose to believe what we want to, but the facts are facts,” said Vicky, in conclusion.
