Akshay Kumar has, lately, been extremely versatile with the kinds of roles he is picking. For instance, in Airlift, he played a patriot who helped people overseas and Rustom, he played a patriot who had a moustache.

Continuing in the similar vein of versatility, the actor’s upcoming role in the movie Gold is all set to break all boundaries of what is known to man.

“In Gold, I’ll be playing a patriot in tweed,” said Akshay Kumar at the recent poster launch for the movie. The poster offers the first look of the movie, in which Akshay is looking suitably patriotic, this time in a tweed jacket.

“I didn’t take up acting so I can play the same role over and over again. I did it so I can demand freshly squeezed orange juice at 3 A.M, while sitting on a 35-year-old man’s back, reading a book. And also, so that I can play versatile characters onscreen,” he said.

Gold has all the requisite ingredients of an Akshay Kumar wet dream. It’s a movie about India’s first gold medal in the Olympics, after Independence. “Some critics have said I stick to the same formula with all my movies, but they will be eating their words vey soon,” said Akshay.
