Last year, Disney announced the live action remake of classic movie The Lion King, with celebrities like Beyonce, Donald Glover, John Oliver, and Seth Rogen joining the voice cast. The Lion King is the profound story of a lion who realises that what they show on the Discovery channel is not fiction but real life.

The original movie came out in the 90s, garnering a cult following of Disney fans, but turns out actor Shah Rukh Khan wasn’t one of them.

According to reports, the actor announced that he would be voicing the character of Mufasa, the OG lion king who gets murdered by his own brother for the throne. When the Mohabbatein actor realised that he will die like a little bitch in the movie, he, reportedly, threw a bitch fit about his role and demanded they make him voice Simba, who is being voiced by his son Aryan Khan.

Shah Rukh Khan has never actually seen the movie, but said he did because he thought it would make him seem well-read.

“I didn’t build a career spanning 27 years on screen to end up dying like a little b***h in a Disney movie,” read a now deleted Tweet from the actor.

“He agreed to do the movie because he felt this would bring him closer to his son Aaryan,” said close family friend Karan Johar, “A Belgian dermatologist told him that keeping himself surrounded by youth will also help him fend off the effects of ageing. Why do you think I’m always around Ananya Pandey and her ilk?”

Turns out, no amount of youth is worth a small role. “He realises that the role is significant, even though it’s small. But he doesn’t want to die again in a movie,” said Johar.

“I am OK with dad playing Simba. I never even wanted the role. I want my voice to be used for auto-tuned Taher Shah song covers, and more than anything, I want to get back to my day job of looking disinterested wherever I am,” said Aryan, on the condition of anonymity.

Shah Rukh Khan, Aryan Khan, Disney, and Beyonce were unable to be reached for a comment.
