Eugenics enthusiast Saif Ali Khan recently opened up about his struggles in the industry with nepotism. The actor, who is the son of famous actress Sharmila Tagore and has admitted to playing a huge role in getting his daughter Sara Ali Khan her roles in Bollywood, revealed how he had lost some projects because of nepotism.
“It was at that time when I realised that nepotism is not good when it works against me,” he said.
The actor went on to recount how he could have been a part of many big movies but got axed out for a more well-well-connected star kid at the last moment.
“Did you know, I was up for the role of Abhishek Bachchan’s motor bike in the ‘Dhoom’ series?,” he said, “I even shot for almost half the movie before I got replaced with Jackie Bhagnani.”
The actor’s comments have set the Internet ablaze, with netizens pouring their outrage over the mistreatment of this well-educated, rich, privileged man from a well-connected and illustrious family.
We reached out to him for a comment, but only managed to get his son Media Darling Taimur Ali Khan. When we told him about his father’s heartbreaking struggle, he said, “Sad, sad, tears of a clown,” and hung up.
