The much-anticipated trailer for Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Love Aaj Kal’, starring Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan, is finally out. The film is the sequel of the director’s 2009 film of the same name, starring Sara’s dad Saif Ali Khan along with Deepika Padukone.

In the previous film, Deepika discovers that the world is a messed up place for women and ultimately she would have to settle down for a mediocre man because that’s how the society has conditioned her. The new movie’s trailer showcases that they have kept the core value of the first film: Fairly decent woman settles for average mediocre male.

The movie is set in 2 time periods: One is 2020, and the other is 1990. It revolves around Kartik Aaryan’s struggle to prove that he can be a misogynistic douchebag in, not one but, two different time periods.

The film trailer relies heavily on evoking fond memories of the previous movie’s soundtrack to distract people from noticing the lacklustre chemistry between the two main leads.

“It’s a movie that’s very close to my heart, because unlike my other few films, I get to keep my real hair in this one,” said Kartik Aaryan, at the trailer launch. Actress Sara Ali Khan was also excited about the upcoming movie and shared that her entire family is excited too. “Yes, we’re all very excited because now everyone can see that I have the emotional range of a blank cement wall,” she said.
