In a recently published report in the Journal of Science Things and Stuff, scientists from the Institute of Research and Other Things (Hyderabad) revealed that they have discovered a new species of rodents who can live without a spine for their whole life.

“The new species of rats, whose scientific name is Dirtbag Slimeballs, is a fairly new mutated form of a common street rat,” reads the report.

According to the scientists, the beginning of this new spineless rat species can be traced back to the year 2014, but they began coming out in the open much recently.

“It’s very hard to distinguish these spineless rats from a regular disease-ridden rat,” claims lead scientist Dr. S. Sangaraju, “One of the key signs we noticed, aside from a distinct lack of spine, was their complete lack of morals and opportunistic behaviour.”

This new species of rodents can mostly be found lurking on Twitter and can be identified by their low regard for any issue that can benefit the world and environment, unless it’s directly benefitting them or their careers.

“Another feature that sets them apart from your average dirty rat, is their ability to sniff out opportunities to burrow their way in the behinds of those they perceive are in power,” reads the report, “It’s something that we have never observed before in this genus, but is becoming increasingly common.”
